In an attempt to break my everyday routine in Montreal, I tried to match an attitude with a specific location.

I wandered in Greenwich Village looking for green places. I then playfully invited the viewer to “walk with me”: to recreate my journey using his/her portable media device.

A series of video-documented dérives in Brooklyn, during which I proposed to follow my steps to find my everyday habits and discoveries. Excerpt:

vous m’avez vue, 2005
Series of public performances in Montreal, color photography.

This project, was made up of a series of urban outings, minimalist performances documented photographically. Wearing a T-shirt printed with the phrase “Vous m’avez vue” (“You saw me”), I created an event by capturing looks shared with passersby. I also provoked encounters with some of them by placing myself in various spaces of visibility and contexts of the selected photographic layouts. In this context, I took my place in the commercial street of Chinatown and then I joined a team of itinerant vendors. I sneaked into tourist souvenir photos in Old Montreal. I found my way into the background of a film set for an American movie and into photos taken by people on the street. I stood in the window display of a department store located on the main commercial street of the shopping district…
